6 Natural Ingredients to add in your Hair Treatment

6 Natural Ingredients to add in your Hair Treatment

Damaged hair can be the result of various reasons: excessive washing, harsh soaps and shampoos, frequent hot styling and even stress. However, before you lose hope and resort to cutting your damaged hair, look at these natural and highly effective hacks to bring your hair back to life.

Tea

Commonly used as a remedy for a sore throat, tea can also restore the natural shine of your damaged hair. Rinse your hair with a quarter cup of freshly prepared, warm and unsweetened tea after your routine shampooing.

Moreover, tea has long been used to enrich hair colour and provide extra shine. Selecting the right type of tea then matters, as the effects will differ based on your selection. Black tea darkens tresses and is recommended for brunettes. Blondes should use chamomile tea since it is comparatively milder and will not darken your hair as much.

Shea butter

For hair that has lost its lustre and became dry and brittle, a shea butter massage might just be what your hair needs.

Massage a handful of butter into your hair and cover it with a shower cap. Leave for about half an hour, followed by your regular shampooing and conditioning. Rinse to make sure all the shea butter washes out. Repeat as per needed and witness your hair becoming more glossy and vibrant.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

You can also revitalise your frizzy hair by doing an apple cider vinegar rise! Just follow this regime: Mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a cup of water. Pour this mixture over your scalp and let it run down your hair. Ensure that none of the apple cider vinegar gets into your eyes when you rinse your hair with water. The smell will eventually dissipate after your hair is dried.

Egg

As we all know, eggs are an excellent source of protein, so why not try it for your damaged hair? Mix a single egg with some shampoo and apply the final product to your hair and brittle ends. Leave on for around five minutes, and rinse thoroughly. Continue this regime once a week to obtain the best results.

Oils

When it comes to oils for improving your hair, there is a large variety to choose from: olive, almond, coconut, jojoba, castor oil, etc.

Just apply a small amount of your chosen oil to your damp hair, making sure to focus on any brittle ends. Cover your oiled hair with a shower cap for about 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo normally. Regularly applying hair oil is especially useful for dry and frizzy hair.

Bananas

Believe it or not, bananas can also help revive and repair your damaged hair. The copious amounts of potassium, natural oils and fortifying vitamins found in bananas, along with their moisture content, aid in softening your hair.

Mash a ripe banana and massage it thoroughly into your hair. Leave it in your hair for at least an hour and rinse with lukewarm water.
