8 Common Causes of Hair Loss and How to Prevent It with This 45-minute Treatment

Stress levels are definitely rising in conjunction with the spike in COVID-19 cases in Singapore. Especially for parents, who once again had to readjust as our kids resumed full-time Home-Based Learning. Unfortunately for many of us, more stress equals more hair loss too — yikes! Besides a stressful lifestyle, there are several other common causes of hair loss. Read on to find out if you’re at risk of losing your crowning glory.

8 Common Causes of Hair Loss

    Harsh Treatments

One of the most common causes of hair loss begins with harsh salon treatments. Do you bleach, colour, perm, or straighten your hair regularly? There’s a chance that you may be exposing your hair and scalp to excessive chemical and heat trauma.

    Overzealous Hairstyling

Sometimes all it takes is drying your hair or brushing it too vigorously after shampooing. Wet hair tends to be extra fragile, so go easy with that towel and hairdryer. Regularly putting your hair up in an over-tight ponytail or braid can uproot hair and damage hair follicles too.

    Neglecting Hair and Scalp Care

On the flip side, not paying enough attention to your tresses can cause harm too. Much like skincare routines where we cleanse, tone, and moisturise our skin, a suitable daily scalp care regimen can serve to ensure beautiful hair.

    Excessive Stress

As mentioned earlier, too much stress is one of the common causes of hair loss. This happens because stress disrupts the growth phase of the hair cycle, causing it to go into the resting phase. Naturally, the falling phase will inevitably follow.

    Unbalanced Diet

Hair is made of a protein called keratin, so a lack of proteins can be detrimental to your locks. Studies also show that 10 per cent of women suffer hair fall due to anaemia, an iron deficiency. Too much or too little vitamin A in your system can also cause hair loss.

    Poor Health

Many sufferers of diabetes or high cholesterol also suffer from hair loss. This is due to poor blood circulation to the hair follicles due to high blood sugar levels and clogged arteries. Hair loss is also a common symptom of conditions that compromise the immune system.

    Growing Older

They say that we get wiser with age, but sadly, we tend to also suffer from the effects of aging. The rate and density of hair growth naturally slows down. We are also more susceptible to disease, which usually means more prescriptions, some of which may also cause hair loss.

    Having Babies!

Becoming a mother is a beautiful event, but unfortunately, not-so-beautiful postpartum hair loss often follows. Pregnancy and childbirth put women through great amounts of physical and emotional stress, not to mention hormone fluctuations.

So What’s the Solution to Hair Loss?

For starters, we can certainly work on changing our diet and lifestyle, and start being kinder to our tresses. We can even try to manage stress levels by practising mindfulness techniques or simply getting more rest. However, there are some things we have no control over, such as aging! And for mums and mums-to-be, postpartum hair loss is a small price to pay for the miracle of motherhood.

Thankfully, we’ve found a new quick-and-easy treatment that helps to prevent and combat hair loss, whatever the cause.

extracting miracle stem cell solution from ampoule

It’s called the MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION by PHS HAIRSCIENCE®. It uses a patented SigGrow™ cell signalling technology to “tell” dormant hair follicles to “wake up!” and start growing again. While kickstarting this self-regenerative process to restore healthy hair cycles, the treatment also delivers vital nutrients to ensure robust hair regrowth. The treatment is available in five variants, from Hair Thinning Control to Hair Growth Regenerator, to address different stages of hair loss. There is even a MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION to reverse grey hair. Even better, each treatment only takes 45 minutes, making it ideal for busy mums!

To be honest, we thought it sounded too good to be true, as you probably do. So, to bring you this review, we accepted a media invitation to experience the treatment for ourselves.

Review: What We Think of the 45-minute MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION Treatment by PHS HAIRSCIENCE®

Upon my arrival at the PHS HAIRSCIENCE Lab at Wheelock Place, one of three located on Orchard Road, I was ushered into a small, dimly lit room. There, the consultant scanned my scalp, which soon confirmed a little suspicion that had bugged me over the past year. Where there should be three to four hairs in each follicle, the ones on the top of my head around my hair parting only had one or two. In other words, I needed this MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION to work!

    PHS HAIRSCIENCE Lab Wheelock Place

Time for the treatment to begin, I stepped into the main part of the Lab. Which, as it turns out, isn’t as cold and metallic as it sounds. Rather, I was pleasantly surprised to see a classy hair salon setting, with natural sunlight streaming through panoramic windows. The follicle-rich ceiling décor made me chuckle — quite apt, I thought!

The process began with a deep cleaning of my scalp using the largest cotton bud I’ve ever seen. My therapist dipped it in an equally large test-tube containing a clear solution and systematically rubbed my scalp with it. Next, she aerated my now squeaky-clean follicles with oxygen to prepare them for the main event.

But then my friendly therapist pulled out a large syringe and needle, and my heart skipped a beat. Didn’t they say this was a non-invasive treatment?! Oh, it was just to inject the revolutionary cell signalling protein solution into the spraying apparatus — whew! I sat back as she began to apply little micro jets of it all over my scalp. Then a gentle ‘stamping’ tool to help ensure that my follicles received as much of the goodness as possible.

    before and after scalp scan

A relaxing head massage and a touch of hairstyling later, and it was done! A second scalp scan showed a much cleaner picture, with none of that gunk from product residue. And my head and scalp felt completely light and refreshed. True, no new hairs had magically grown in those 45 minutes, but hey, I’m no fairytale beanstalk! A few more MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION treatments at the PHS HAIRSCIENCE Lab should do the trick, though.

Still not convinced? Well, 30-year-old mum and business owner Calista went for the treatment twice a week for three months. The result pretty much speaks for itself. Check out her experience in the video below — while I call PHS HAIRSCIENCE to make my next appointment!

If you’re finding too much hair on the floor and not enough on your head, consider giving the 45-minute MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION Treatment by PHS HAIRSCIENCE® a whirl. The first-time trial usually costs $88, but this June, you can enjoy it at an extra-special price of just $68! Call 6692 0662 to find out more or click here to sign up for your first trial now!
